Glad you figured out whatever it was.

I found this recipe for homemade laundry soap:

http://www.thefamilyhomestead.com/laundrysoap.htm

can't vouch for it, but the ingredients (fels naphtha, washing soda, borax) are all sufficiently uncomplicated that you could test each one separately for sensitivity.

Thanks Bill.
I think that any woman who has experienced sexual assault will have that resonance. At this moment, for me, it seems like something that is on the surface and not a direct factor. It is pretty easy to talk about, and examine.
I have experienced some EMDR and found it profoundly helpful. More significant change than I would have expected.
I think things are mostly positive, but certainly also confusing.

Sorry that dating has had such poor outcomes, for you.
At one point you told me, you were still having "anniversary" symptoms of your sexual assault - have these anniversary symptoms finally abated ?

If not, I suggest trauma resolution work with my former therapist, Barbara Seabury, ACSW, who specializes in U-M co-ed date-rape resolutions, usually
within nine EMDR sessions.

Possibly, your dating problems, could be connected to your own similar incident, that still puts out a "defensive-vibe", that spooks the possibility
of attracting, the "simpatico" person, you want to build a relationship with.

Barb's Contact Info:
                             (Barb)bseabury@pipeline.com,

                             Barbara Seabury, ACSW (EMDR)
                             708 West Huron, Suite 4,
                             Ann Arbor, MI 48103

                             Telephone: (734) 761-5887

Hope that this is of help to you.

A few minutes ago a manager from Ann Arbor Offset showed up, apologized, agreed they had to do better-- and had last weeks papers for me. Something to be said for giving up I guess.

Thanks Brent. Nice to know someone took the time to listen! Ethics and parenting - there is a large and large again issue both meta and micro. The web site a2ethics.com is a place to discuss with other people. My soon to be up portal will be more tightly focused on healthcare. Glad you caught the part about men and health care. Our treating men like disposable people is something rarely talked about.

I really enjoyed the ethics interview, especially the idea of talking, having conversations about the "rules" that we come up. I thought the discussion of sex with practitioners was informative, I could see how someone could think that having sex with their client could be a positive thing, but then the whole point of having an ethical structure (rules, oversight, open communication, etc.) is that we all need the feedback of others, there is wisdom in groups that doesn't exist, or is easily missed, in the individual. And talking about things, having all included in the conversation helps us all become empowered and all know we have the ability and responsibility to be ethical. I think everyone naturally knows the effects of unethical behavior, however we find it difficult to see our own unethical behavior, and it's effect on others. I have a desire to find people to discuss ethical questions.
I also appreciated your mention of men and their reticence at seeking medical care. To me that seems to go along with ethical questions, and got me thinking again of those gender differences that are so profound in our relationships, from our family relationships, work relationships and interestingly, since we seem to spend a lot of time thinking about them, our love relationships.
My areas of particular interest in ethics is male female relationships and the ethics of parenting. I certainly feel the effects of ethical compromises in work and the health field as well, I enjoyed your talking about the problem of patient confidentiality, such an important thing, though where is the discussion of that in the classical doctor's office?
Thank you for for your efforts at communication, I look forward to keeping up with your blog.

My friend Monte wrote about last night as well, and asked what would you like to have people know about you at your wake?

Here is what I wrote in response -
That was a lovely gathering, I agree.
...
Like you, I think a lot of people know a lot about me. I'm out there. Building community has become one of the most important unifying themes in my life. I would like all of my friends and students and clients to come together and tell their stories and directly experience that network and bond that that they share. Like you, I can feel being in that quiet inner place on the web where the spider sits, feeling the vibration from any direction when the web is touched. The web has impermanence, as do we, and I think when hundreds of people start dancing around on it it becomes a whole other dimension of knowing and experiencing. And something that creates the foundation for future spinning.
So I'd like people at my wake to be experiencing that. Talking about that. Sharing that. And building on it as well. I want my community to have the best chance possible of knowing how that feels.
